Sex Offender feels wrath of tough NYS Internet laws
New York State legislation passed in April of 2008 required all levels of convicted sex offenders to register any and all e-mail names, addresses, or accounts used for internet chats sites, instant messaging, networking or similar communications. Sex offenders must notify the DCJS (Department of Criminal Justice Services) within 10 days of any changes in internet information. In January of this year, the DCJS sent a letter to Chaz L. Rodriguez, age 21, of Newark, that he must comply to all terms of the law. .....

Newark Wayne Community Hospital announces $14 million facility modernization
On Thursday evening, a group comprised of community leaders, friends, and past donors gathered to learn about Newark-Wayne Community Hospital’s plans to revitalize and modernize local emergency care through a $14 million project. The centerpiece of the project is the addition of a new and expanded Emergency Department and the modernization of Outpatient Services at the Hospital. Among attendees were several local and regional elected officials, including New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio, Chair of Wayne County Board of Supervisors James Hoffman, and Sodus Point Mayor Michael Sullivan. ....

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest on Sunday (8/30) night of Daniel A. Olson, age 59, of Layton Street Road in Lyons for DWI/Aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol level over three times the legal limit having a BAC of .27%.
