Jumping in to the Sea of Galilee

When I heard the news that a pack of lawmakers, wives and aides boozed it up and ended up jumping into the Sea of Galilee last year I was horrified. One Republican Congressman even shed all his clothes and jumped in naked! One question immediately came to mind…how many peed?
The headlines shocked America. Is Skinny-Dipping In The Sea Of Galilee Sacrilegious?…Naked Congressman at Holy Site…it went on and on.
Actually, I and most of America and the religious communities could care less about the romp in the Galilee. People have been swimming and yes, probably peeing in the Holy Land body of water for thousands of years.
My chief objection to the whole shenanigans is about politicians and their wives accepting political junkets. I am tired of the old “privately funded excursion” excuse for these vacations. Oh, yeah, the Israeli front group that sponsored the trip probably jammed a good amount of pro-Israeli stuff down their congress throats before letting them loose on fine dining and drinks, but to call this just another “explorative” adventure for members of congress is sacrilegious at best. What? These politicians think they walk on water?
Oh, don’t get me wrong, both sides of the aisle take these paid vacations and we often hear how no taxpayer money was involved. Really? Not one red cent? Those “aides” contributed their own time? There is nothing expected from the Israeli group, or any other junket supplier in return?
No “fact finding” vacations should be allowed, period. If a “fact finding” trip is necessary, let it come out of the congressional budgets and be approved by both sides of the House.

How about that moron, Missouri Senator Todd Akin’s statement that women’s bodies can prevent pregnancies in cases of “legitimate rape.”
How did this guy ever make it so far in life. Akin has given the Democrat demigods fuel and the Republican forces akin’ headaches beyond belief. “Akin appealed Tuesday to Christian evangelicals, anti-abortion activists and anti-establishment Republicans. He said he remains the best messenger to highlight respect for life and liberty that he contends are crumbling under the policies of President Barack Obama.”
This just goes to show you, Democrats do not have a firm hold on stupid.

President Obama has one huge advantage in fundraising. He travels on Air Force One with a entourage that can’t be beat. Recently the Pres travelled to the Connecticut Town of Westport for a fundraiser at the home of very liberal movie producer Harvey Weinstein. The $38,500 per person dinner raised gobs of cash and publicity and left the Town with a $14,812 bill for police and fire overtime costs. The Democratic National Committee has informed the Connecticut town it will not be reimbursed for the thousands of dollars the city spent on costs for President Obama’s fundraising visit. This is not the first time a municipality has been left holding the money bag$$ for one of these presidential excursions and I doubt it will be the last.
