Shane Sweeney went 16 of 22 for 309 yards and six touchdowns, including four to Sean Cunningham, to lead Geneva (1-0). Cunningham finished with six catches for 116 yards and Jesse Lewis added four catches for 108 yards and two TDs. Josh Jackson ran for 194 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries for the Panthers. Phil Tack was 11-for-26 for 291 yards, four touchdowns and an interceptions and scored a rushing TD for Newark (0-1). Micah Wright had six receptions for 158 yards and four TDs and added two carries for 67 yards and a TD for the Reds.

Josh Lennon caught a 20-yard pass from Stephen Morrell on the first play of the second overtime to give Pal-Mac a 63-57 lead. Then Lennon and Morrell hooked up again for the two-point conversion. Morrell finished 13-for-26 for 288 yards passing and five touchdown passes and two rushing touchdowns for the Red Raiders (1-0). Jacob Bleier had 14 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns for Pal-Mac. Trevor Wager caught five passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns and Lennon caught four passes for 90 yards and three touchdowns for the Red Raiders. John Martisch finished with 28 carries for 126 yards and four touchfowns for the Mustangs (0-1).
